The history of Warn Industries

There have been many significant milestones in Warn Industries' 60+ years in business. You history buffs can check out the complete WARN history at the history section of Warn.com. Just to get you started, here's a brief intro:

Our company started in 1948 when Arthur Warn started making locking hubs for surplus WWII Jeeps. In fact, by 1954, WARN Hubs were offered as factory options by major domestic vehicle manufacturers. (The photo above is of the old Warn Motors in Kent, WA. And here's a bit of trivia: The company was originally located in Washington state, but eventually moved all of its operations to Oregon in the 1980s.).

In 1959, WARN developed the electric winch, the first recreational application of such a device. Ten years later, Warn sold its first winch to International Harvester.
