Press Release: Works DC Winch Line

WARN Works Fills Out DC Winch Line for Pros and DIY-ers
Warn Industries puts its off-road winch expertise to work in a new line of
DC winch products aimed at both consumers and commercial tradesmen.

Clackamas, OR (August 7, 2003) Do-it-yourselfers, weekend warriors, and tradesmen of all types now have a new class of power tools to put to work, thanks to Warn Industries. The company has tapped its 50-plus years of off-road product know-how to produce a family of DC winches-specifically for use in the shop, on the farm or at the job-site-that are engineered to its demanding performance standards.

Warn Works is a unique brand, reflected in distinctive orange and gray units that are compact in size for portability and versatility. They also feature prominent black "touch zones" that identify key operational points to help users start, run and stop a unit easily and safely.

Centerpiece of the DC winch line is the WARN Works 3700. With its 3,700-lb. pulling capacity, the winch is ideally suited to a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading of small machinery and construction equipment, placing and removing trees and shrubs, winching in hay bales, even moving boat ramps and docks.

Key features of the WARN Works 3700 include a 1.9 hp., best in class permanent magnet motor, all metal gear housing and gear train and a robust three-stage planetary gear design. The 3700 comes with a convenient, multi-directional top-mounted clutch lever for dependable powering in and out and easy free spooling. The brake is a mechanical and dynamic system that holds the full rated load. Operation is through an industrial contactor control pack and a remote control unit with 12' lead.

Two other members of the WARN Works DC winch line are the 4700 and the 1700. The 4700 differs from the 3700 in its pulling capacity (4,700 lbs.) and its use of a low profile metal clutch knob. The 1700 has a 1,700 lb. pulling capacity, a patented split ring gear train, and a large, end-mounted rotary control switch for easy power in and out.

Each of the DC winches comes standard with wire rope (in diameters ranging from 5/32" to 1/4") safety clasp hook, roller fairlead (3700) or hawse fairlead (4700). A complete line of rigging and mounting accessories are available to enhance the utility and versatility of any of the Warn Works winches.
