Warn Introduces Highest-Performing Truck Winch
New 16.5ti delivers 16,500-lb. pulling capacity along with Operator feedback technology

Clackamas, OR (November 3, 2003) Based on the strong market acceptance of its previously introduced 9.5ti winch, Warn Industries today announced the release of the new 16.5ti winch, giving truck owners the largest recreational winch on the market with the innovative concept of real-time operator feedback.

In the new 16.5ti- "ti" denotes thermometric indicator-Warn offers a winch providing 16,500 lbs. (7484 kgs) of pulling power, with motor temperature information displayed for the operator on the unit's hand-held remote control unit during the winching process. The result is a winch that stands up to the most demanding use while guarding against failure due to overheating.

The new high strength aluminum solenoid housing has been engineered to handle the rugged abuse of the off road enthusiast. At the same time the new styling integrates cleanly with the Warn trans4mer and late model vehicle design.

The 16.5ti gains its performance from a 4.6 hp Gen II Series Wound motor that delivers fast line speeds and operates efficiently with low amp draw. Its planetary gear train has been manufactured out of a specially selected high strength steel alloy for maximum strength and durability.

Control features include an improved solenoid layout, Warn's exclusive multi-segment, cam-actuated brake, and a rotating ring gear clutch for safe and efficient freespooling. The 3.5" diameter drum holds 90-ft. of 7/16" wire rope.

To ensure maximum resistance to water, the 16.5ti incorporates an extreme duty sealing system. Key features of this system include radial contact drum seals, motor seal and end housing gaskets. Internal protection is based on a combination of Albida grease and Aeroshell # 17 lubrication.

The 16.5ti is finished in high gloss dark gray powder coat over a chromate base coat providing superior corrosion resistance. The winch is compatible with mounting kits designed for Warn's M15000 winch, and it integrates cleanly with newer vehicle styling.
