New WARN Line of ATV Winches Features Synthetic Rope,
Mechanical Brakes
Available in 1.5, 2.5, and 3.0 platforms
INDIANAPOLIS (International Powersports Dealer Expo, Feb. 18, 2006) -
Warn Industries today expanded its ATV winch lineup by introducing three new "s" winch
models - 1.5s, 2.5s, 3.0s - that come standard with synthetic rope.
Available in three pulling capacities - 1,500 lbs., 2,500 lbs., and 3,000 lbs. - the "s" models
feature durable synthetic rope, a roller fairlead for the highest level of performance and
reliability, and a mechanical brake that is designed to provide positive operator control.
The 1.5s holds 40' of 5/32" diameter synthetic rope while the 2.5s and 3.0s come
with 50' of 3/16" diameter synthetic rope.
"Synthetic rope is growing in popularity in the ATV marketplace and the new "s" models
give our customers the opportunity to choose between wire and synthetic rope when
they purchase a WARN ATV winch," said Karl Christensen, vice president of Warn
Industries and general manager of the company's Powersports Division. "We think
synthetic rope will be very well-received by users who want this particular application."
In a unique pairing, "s" winches work with a new, out-of-box WARN roller fairlead that
prevents the rope from fraying and binding in the corners. Roller action greatly reduces
rope surface friction during side pulls and increases rope and winch performance.
The WARN synthetic rope winches will appeal to consumers for a variety of other reasons
as well:
- With its light weight, synthetic rope contributes to an overall weight savings of up
to 3 lbs. per winch.
- Easy to handle, synthetic rope is user-friendly and can be quickly coiled and laid out
for efficient rigging.
- Used in the proper conditions and applications, synthetic rope is durable and
long-lasting. It contains exceptional strength and bending properties and is an excellent
choice for lifting plows.
- To provide extra protection against sharp edges and wear, a 3' Rock Guard Sleeve
comes on each rope.
For ATV riders who prefer wire rope, the "ci" line and "ce" versions of WARN ATV
winches - 4.0, 3.0, 2.5 and 1.5 - come standard with wire rope.
