Press Release: WARN Works to Debut New Design

WARN Works to Debut New Design Features at 2005 International Builders Show
Improvements make winch lineup more versatile

ORLANDO, Fla. (International Builders Show, Jan. 13, 2005) - WARN Works, an innovative line of portable power winches and hoists from Warn Industries, will introduce its newest generation of products at the 2005 International Builders Show in Orlando.

Heading the list of design advancements for 2005 are standard fairleads that now come with many of the company's AC and DC winch models. Previously offered as an optional accessory, a fairlead guides the wire rope onto the winch drum and increases the performance level and lifespan of the product.

"The fairlead is a vital part of the winching process and important to the durability of our winches, so we listened to customer feedback and made this important accessory standard equipment with many of our models," said Dave Burns, general manager of WARN Works.

In 2005, the 1500AC, 1700DC and 4700DC models will be equipped with standard hawse fairleads, while the 3200AC-R and 3700DC will be sold with roller fairleads.

Emphasizing the portability of the WARN Works products, the company launched the all-new 3200AC-R model in January, the first all-in-one portable AC winch and carrier combination that comes ready to plug in and use right out of the box (see separate press release). The winch comes attached to a carrier that features an integrated mounting plate, roller fairlead, carry handle, and built-in dock to hold the hand-held remote. The tool has a pull capacity of 3,200 lbs., runs off a standard wall socket and can be used inside or outside. It replaces the stand-alone 3200AC model in the lineup.

Also new for 2005 is a re-engineered Portable Anchor Plate that allows WARN Works winches to be temporarily attached to a stable object such as a tree or rock.

Made of high quality, black powder coated steel, the Portable Anchor Plate kit comes with pre-drilled bolt patterns that allow for easy connection between the winch and the plate. Two anchor chains with Clevis-style slip hooks attach to the plate and can be fastened around any suitable anchor point to give complete portability with any WARN Works winch.

WARN Works products will find use on the construction job site, and on landscape, agricultural and home improvement projects-wherever pulling, hauling, dragging or lifting are required. Both AC- and DC- powered versions are available, along with numerous accessories such as shackles and anchor straps.

An AC-powered hoist comes with safety features, like a load limiter, previously offered only on more expensive industrial-grade hoists.
